Tennis Player of the Month – Peter Jeziorski

Dennis Whitley

What do Peter Jeziorski and Saint Pope John Paul II have in common? Though Peter is a great guy, he might fall short in the voting for sainthood. Both he and Pope John Paul II share the same hometown, Wadowice, Poland.

Peter’s family moved to the U.S. in 1950 to the Chicago area, and he studied at the Chicago School of Art. It was there he immediately took to watercolor as his medium of choice and has been painting ever since. After leaving school, Peter spent his entire career as an art director for the newspaper industry, advertising agencies, his own agency, and his own publishing company. His career took him and his wife Pat from Chicago to New Jersey, New York City, and Vermont where they now split their time between there and PebbleCreek. Peter was introduced to tennis at a young age when an uncle in West Germany recruited him to be a ball boy. He played tennis and took lessons while living in New York City, where he found courts in basements and on rooftops. As with many of us, his career and the birth of their son Peter, limited his time for tennis and skiing. As his son became older, he was then introduced to tennis and skiing, and Peter could enjoy these activities again.

Once fully retired and painting full time, Peter and Pat opened their own art gallery where they exhibit sixteen Vermont artists, as well as, his own work. While here in PebbleCreek, Peter takes advantage of our wonderful Creative Arts facility and paints there twice a week. He also conducts watercolor art workshops there for residents interested in learning or expanding their skills.

The Creative Arts building, the tennis courts, and other amenities in PebbleCreek were the reasons he and Pat chose to purchase a home here. In addition to all that PebbleCreek has to offer, they also cite the great people they have met here.

Peter appreciates the excellent tennis facilities at PebbleCreek and opportunities he has to play tennis at Men’s Drop-In or the Monday/Wednesday/Friday resident group, in addition to tennis socials.

Peter is enjoying staying active playing tennis with his friends, while also pursuing his passion for art. That’s why he is our Tennis Player of the Month.
