Singles Club celebrates 20th anniversary

Shawnee Robison

Rockin’ and rollin’ to the 50s beat had all of us Singles movin’ and groovin,’ splishin’ and a splashin’ all night long! What a trip down memory lane for us baby boomers! If you weren’t there on Halloween night you not only missed the singles’ most amazing 20th anniversary, but the fundraising event of the year.

Picture yourself in your backyard on a Sunday afternoon, dressed in your best button up blouse, (Pink Sweeties) silk jacket, rolled up blue jeans, pink bobby sox and black and white Mary Janes, grabbing a paper plate while Mom dishes up a healthy spoonful of barbecued pork onto your favorite tiny bun. Big sister spoons some potato salad and cole slaw, while Junior slaps on the pork and beans. Dad has the Motorola radio cranked up loud as you dance over to the red checkered picnic table hearing All Shook Up by good old Elvis Presley. If that doesn’t bring back memories you must be six feet under!

If you are already a single, adult PebbleCreek homeowner, permanent resident, renter or snowbird, but not yet a member, and you love dancing, parties, golfing, bocce ball, bowling, table and card games, local concerts, dining out, meeting new people, using your inner talents, singing, drawing, or even taking the exciting double decker bus tour while enjoying hot chocolate, good company, and taking in the amazing local Christmas decorations, you’d better boogie on over to the next PebbleCreek Singles monthly meeting because you don’t want to miss out on the 12 Days of Christmas holiday party to end all parties! Point those penny loafers or saddle oxfords on the first Sunday of every month in the direction of the Tuscany Ballroom by 2:00 p.m. when the doors open. New member sign-ups begin at 2:15 p.m. and members and guests sign up for coming events and activities at 2:30 p.m. The main production begins promptly at 3:00 p.m. and ends, generally, at 4:00 p.m. followed by waltzing over to the Long Drive Lounge for your favorite libation, camaraderie and further socializing before we hop-scotch over to an entertaining Dutch dinner at a predetermined venue (different every month).

So put on that headset, turn up the volume, tickle those keys on your keyboard and enter pebblecreeksingles.com or contact our lead maestro Frank Rodgers: [email protected] for more intriguing information about us. Hopefully I will see you bop through the door at our next meeting.
