We’re not the only ones excited about the Artrageous experience coming to Arizona in January (and to our theater on January 14)! Wild Horse Pass, where the troupe appears two days before heading to PebbleCreek, is so excited they’re doing a special presale promotion for this amazing, popular, world-class event.

The theater at Wild Horse Pass has 1400 seats with tickets going for as much as $69 for seats on the first level. The Renaissance Theater at PebbleCreek has just 300 seats and all tickets are just $25. As I write this, we still have some seats available which I know you will really want to get your hands on.

The Artrageous Show is a journey through the decades – stopping to admire unique icons and famous music throughout the journey. You will see artists live on stage in their make-shift studios creating portraits of these famous icons. One of the things that makes these portraits different than a portrait you would see in a museum is that they are done in an oversized way ~ accompanied by live music. The artists creating each portrait paint at lightning speed and use their hands and brushes to create what we call Action Painting. The portraits are done on a giant scale that is four feet by six feet and sometimes six feet by six feet.

The roots of Artrageous go back some 20 years when a group of hardworking friends got together to explore the arts and to travel and experience the world. Today, and some 2500 national and international performances later, these same friends who started as Street Performers on Granville Island in Vancouver, have come full circle and back to their roots to create Artrageous, a truly unique show. Where in one place can you participate in an experience that includes a team of artists, singers, dancers, Bunraku puppeteers and – most importantly – audience involvement and interaction?

If you are not familiar with Artrageous, I urge you to check out their website: http://artrageousexperience.com where you can see some video clips of their performances and get a taste of what’s in store for you. It’s a really big show and it’s coming our way!
