Meet Roxy! She is a 16.5-year-old female Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix. Roxy was a rescue dog from New York City that we adopted in 2002. She did not enjoy the winters in New York like us so we decided to move to Goodyear in 2007. Roxy accompanied us as we drove to her new home in Arizona.
She loved the warm weather and walked three miles twice a day. We have lived in the area here, once called “Outer Mongolia,” for the last 12 years. Roxy got to know all her neighbors well and enjoyed walking every day with them. Roxy was a big fan of the softball field and made many friends there.
She was very friendly to everyone and their pets. On birthdays she would join in and sing Happy Birthday as only she could. As she got older, her most enjoyable time was riding in the golf cart. It didn’t matter where we went as long as she was riding.
