PebbleCreek community provided Thanksgiving blessings for many families

Edna DeFord

Our PebbleCreek Community Church once again coordinated preparations for Thanksgiving dinner baskets distributed by Agua Fria Food and Clothing Bank. This year some 350 families received baskets, which were made possible thanks to the wonderful contributions of food and financial aid by many clubs and individuals here in PebbleCreek.

Many hours of preparation go into the collection of food, purchase of additional needed items to fill the baskets and of course, the purchase of turkeys to be given with each food basket. Volunteers then spend time making up the food baskets, which were in the form of backpacks this year. More volunteers then distributed the food and turkeys from the Agua Fria Food Bank prior to the wonderful day we set aside to be thankful for all our blessings.

Our PebbleCreek Community Church Mission Committee has been coordinating this event for some 17 years and has always depended on our community to provide much of what is needed. We want to give everyone who helped a special thank you for a job well done at Thanksgiving time.
