The PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association held its annual Cancer Awareness Tournament on April 5 on the Tuscany Golf Courses. The ladies were all dressed in pink for this charity event. The participants chose their own foursome for this team game. The league raised over $8,000 to donate to the National Foundation for Cancer Research which will come back locally for cancer research. The money was raised from the sale of raffle tickets from baskets donated by groups, 50/50 raffle tickets and sale of pinwheels created by Pam Volm. The pinwheels were labeled with names of friends and family that have been afflicted with cancer and were displayed in an honor garden by the putting green on the day of play. The cancer survivors within the league were honored and presented with a long stem rose. It was a fun day for all and the league treated all members to a turkey croissant luncheon after golf. Special thanks to Kathy Schaffer for her hard work in making this a fun and successful event.
