Saturday, June 20, 2015 – On a hot morning with a slight breeze blowing, forty-six golfers competed for the first Tee for Two Couples Golf Championship.

The format was net better ball between each man/woman partnership.

The season of five tournaments started last November, each with a different format. This tournament was the culminating event.

Today’s field was divided into three flights. There were prizes awarded for first, second and third place in each flight.

An overall Tee for Two Couples Champion was awarded to the couple with the lowest net score among all flights. This honor went to Bjarne and Pat Kaer who shot 56. This winning score included four natural birdies. In addition to their trophy, the Kaers will have their name inscribed on a permanent plaque which will hang in the Eagle’s Nest Pro Shop.

The flight winners were as follows:

Flight A – 1st place Gary and Linda Atkinson 60 (match of cards); 2nd place Michael and Donnie Meyers 60; 3rd place Mike and Mary Pinski 61

Flight B – 1st place Bill and Mary Simmons 58; 2nd place Mike and Tricia Self 60; 3rd place Greg and Vicki Ray 62

Flight C – 1st place Russ and Mary Georgesen 60; 2nd place Mitch and Lorna Lincoln 61; 3rd place Jeff and Carol Horan 62

Closest to the Pin awards went to Marjorie Scherer (Palms 8) and Michael Meyers (Falls 8).

The tournament was organized by Steve and Ruth Shaffer and administered by Ronnie Decker, PebbleCreek Pro.

The Tee for Two concept of golf tournaments for couples on the weekends has been very well received and will resume in the fall. Look for notices from the Pro Shop.
