Luke AFB K9 Kennel Master to speak Wednesday, February 7

Marge Ellison, Vice President, The Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek

The Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek is very pleased and honored to have as its guest speaker on Wednesday, February 7, TSgt. Dominic Petersen, the K9 Kennel Master at Luke AFB. We will meet at 3:00 p.m. in Room 100 of the Eagle’s Nest Activities Center. All PebbleCreek residents, whether club members or not, are invited to attend this free presentation.

TSgt Petersen, a California native, joined the U.S. Air Force in 2004, starting his technical training as a Security Forces (SF) member. His varied duty stations have included service in Japan as a SF Control Center Operator. In deployments to both Kuwait and Iraq he was in law enforcement on their many American bases. His earlier duties also included Human Remains (HR) patrol.

In 2007, TSgt. Petersen was selected to attend Military Working Dog School. He subsequently deployed to Sather Air Force Base, Baghdad, where his duties included explosive detection for over 85 “outside the wire missions.” His next assignment took him to South Korea as a Patrol Dog Handler. He then was selected to go to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, where his drug dog found over 200 pounds of illegal narcotics. Upon returning to the U.S., he served four years at Lackland AFB, Texas, training military dogs and handlers.

Presently at Luke AFB, TSgt Petersen is the Kennel Master in charge of five military working dog teams. Among his awards are an achievement medal, three commendation awards, and two volunteer service medals (one by the Army and one by the Air Force).

We invite all PebbleCreek residents to join us on Wednesday, February 7, for this very interesting program. You do not have to be a member of the club to attend.
