With our annual Christmas party behind us we are all settling in for a perfect 2018! The weather at PebbleCreek has been wonderful for tennis! A little chilly in the early mornings but by afternoon, warmer temperatures appear and off come the jackets for very comfortable playing.
Annual dues are now due. $30 for members and $15 for social membership. Your membership allows participation in our social events where we offer fun tennis, great food, admirable prizes, 50/50 raffle, and the chance to mingle with your tennis club friends!
Our club’s social director, Jill Santy, along with the tournament director, Diane Bostock, are keeping very busy planning various socials and play for all to enjoy throughout the year. Our next social will be Thursday, February 15. Please check the website www.pebblecreektennis.org for further updates regarding this event.
Mark your calendars! We will be hosting Sun City West for an event on Sunday, March 4. It will feature men’s play, women’s play, and mixed doubles. On March 24 we will hold a “Doubles or Nothing” tournament. Check-in is slated for 8:30 a.m. with play at 9:00 a.m., followed by a lunch for the players, then the championship event. Light snacks will be provided for spectators! Be sure to check the website for up-to-date information.
To quote Boris Becker, “I love the winning, I can take the losing, but most of all I love to play.”
Lastly, consider this: You realize you’re never going to get any better at anything like tennis…you just want to keep the ball in play a little longer.
