General Manager’s Message

Bill Barnard

There are so few communities that are truly like PebbleCreek. We have so much to do here, so many amenities and activities that I mentioned in my message last month. In my message this month, I would like to share a little bit more about our food and beverage outlets, because I think they really do set us apart from the rest. Here in PebbleCreek, we have two full-service restaurants, a catering and banquet department, a snack bar, and even a coffee bar. Being just a short walk, golf cart ride, or quick drive from your front door to enjoy different dining options is really nice.

For those of you who may not know, I started working here 20 years ago as the Director of Golf and some still think of me as “the golf guy.” During that time, I worked closely with our banquet department helping set up food and beverage for our golf events, from small outings of 20 people to large dinner dances for over 400 people. Day in and day out our banquet team does a fantastic job with all types of events. The Banquet/Catering Office and kitchen are located in the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. Our department is a full-service operation that can handle anything from small events such as birthdays, parties, celebrations, and anniversaries up to large events like weddings, dances, holiday events, and fine dining. Ask our catering staff to help book one of our ballrooms, meeting rooms, or even to take food home when you are looking to host an event.

Also, on the Tuscany side is Toscana’s, our beautiful stand-alone restaurant that has views of the golf course from almost all of the seats in the restaurant, bar and lounge, and patio areas. During football season, the bar and lounge has the Sunday NFL Ticket for our sports fans and many weekends, during the cooler months, they will host entertainment on the patios. Their specialty nights offer some of the nicest cuts of meats, a variety of fresh fish, and the chef keeps the menu up to date to change offerings year-round.

Portofino’s and Ed’s Dogs are our smaller, quicker, grab and go outlets also located on the Tuscany side. Just outside of the library in the Tuscany Clubhouse is the Portofino Coffee Bar. I am definitely a coffee guy and I enjoy being able to stop there to get a latte, café mocha, or just a good cup of regular coffee. In addition to coffee and hot tea, they offer muffins, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. Ed’s Dogs is our grab and go snack bar located right next to the Tuscany pool and on the turn when you’re playing the East golf course. Ed’s offers burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, fries, sodas, and even beer and wine. Whether you are on your way to a club meeting, lecture, lounging poolside, or your favorite sport, please stop by either of these outlets to make your day a little better.

As you may know, my office is located in the Activities Complex on the Eagle’s Nest side of the property and on those mornings when a meeting or work calls me to the Eagle’s Nest clubhouse, I absolutely love the smell of bacon coming out of Chef Mary’s kitchen. Another full-service restaurant on the Eagle’s Nest side offers a most delicious breakfast menu at great prices and their Sunday buffet is outstanding. The restaurant is also home to many of our specialty dining events. Chef Mary prepares amazing food from around the world during her “A Taste of…” theme nights and the always popular Friday Fish Fry. Eagle’s Nest also hosts all of our major holiday meals, Easter and Thanksgiving buffets, as well as specialty events for Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and Mother’s Day. Whether it’s a quick breakfast, lunch on the patio, drinks at the bar, or one of Mary’s delicious dinners, the Eagle’s Nest restaurant is just a great place to go.

Life in PebbleCreek is filled with so much to do, so many amenities, and so much to keep you busy and active; it is truly resort living. With our two restaurants, banquet/catering department, Portofino Coffee Bar, and Ed’s Dogs, you won’t go hungry or thirsty. If you haven’t been to one of our facilities recently, I encourage you to get out there and try them all!
