On January 17, 2014, Guest Relations greeter Ann Fromm was working at the Eagle’s Nest gatehouse when two females approached the gate suggesting that they were headed to a specific address to check out a couch for sale. Ann thought the request to be somewhat odd based on the size of the vehicle they had should they decide to actually purchase the couch; however, there was nothing more substantial to prohibit them from entering the community. The license plate number of the vehicle was obscured and not legible due to a smoke colored plastic covering over the actual license plate; however, Ann took note of the license plate number and entered it into Community Services’ computer system as it passed her window.

It was ultimately determined that the two females in question were suspects in an auto burglary that took place in Avondale whereby the spouse of the homeowner had his vehicle broken into. The suspects took the garage door opener and vehicle registration which provided them with the PebbleCreek address the two females were reportedly going to. When the two females arrived at the house, the woman of the house answered the door to one of the two females. It was ultimately determined that the second female made her way into the homeowner’s garage and took a number of items to include sets of keys. Ultimately, the Goodyear Police Department was contacted and they responded to the home. Likewise, Avondale Police Department was actively involved in the investigation and from Ann Fromm’s information were able to create a substantial criminal case against the two female suspects which ultimately led to their arrest a few weeks later.

Ann Fromm had some reason to believe that something wasn’t quite right and, recognizing this, made the effort to hone in on the license plate number of the vehicle and enter it into our computer system that ultimately led to the arrest of two females who were involved in multiple criminal offenses in several communities. Ann performed her duties in an outstanding manner and is recognized for going above and beyond the call of duty. The extra effort paid off exponentially and she is credited with providing a critical piece of information that led to these two suspects being brought to justice.
