4th annual Irish American Club’s Holly Christmas Ball

Suzanne Rambach, PR Director

On December 8, approximately 250 people attended the fourth annual PCIAC Holly Christmas Ball. It all began with kilt-clad greeters at the door, then to hostess smiles! After entering, guests were met with cocktails and appetizers in the Chianti Room before entering a beautifully decked out ballroom for dinner and dancing!

For dinner, guests enjoyed their choice of either a stuffed chicken breast with whiskey cream sauce, or flatiron steak with demi-glaze. Dessert consisted of a delicious display of cakes featuring Irish images. The cakes painted a picture of Irish pride, displaying six different symbols including the Claddagh, the Harp, a Map of Ireland, the Celtic Cross, the Trinity Knot and the Irish Flag.

The music of SILK entertained the guests during the cocktail and dinner hours, while the Thaddeus Rose Trio provided the music for the evening’s dancing. Judging by the number of folks kicking up their heels on the dance floor, they were a big hit!

Every guest received a gift of a beautiful shamrock bowl from the Blarney Woolen Mills in Ireland. At the end of the evening, guests were wished a Happy Christmas in Irish (Nollaig Shona Duit) before heading home to reflect on a wonderful evening! The club thanks Terry Roth (chair) and committee members: Maureen Pugsley, Lisa Greenhoot, June Flynn, Dorie Hedien and Jan Kirk.
