2017-2018 PCLGA Cholla League

Bev Clinton

Each year two teams of PCLGA members commit to represent PebbleCreek in the Cholla League, which is a match play league comprised of teams from across the West Valley. PebbleCreek is represented by an Eagle’s Nest team and a Tuscany Falls team. Each year there are signups with new teams fielded every two years. This year those who were assigned a team last year remained on the same team and new members were reviewed and assigned to a team. Captains/co-captains this year are Joanne Pollock/Kathy Enegren for Eagle’s Nest and Jean Ostroga/Carol Ratliff for Tuscany Falls. Co-captains will be captains next year and choose a co-captain once new teams are formed.

The complete PebbleCreek teams for 2017 – 2018 are the following:

Eagle’s Nest Team: JoAnne Pollock, captain, Kathy Enegren, co-captain, Carolyn Apodaca, Lynda Bronzetti, Sharma Fleming, Judy Hauser, Nancy Hernandez, Gayle Hubbard, Nancy Kyle, Liz Mitchell, Donna Monk, Judy Newell, Debbie Sayre, Ingried Sigovich, Cindy Sota, Carolyn Suttles, Christine Urbatchka and Marilyn Williams.

Tuscany Falls Team: Jean Ostroga, captain, Carol Ratliff, co-captain, Sue Abercrombie, Sally Babbitt, Kathy Curtis, Nancy Fackelmann, Mary Falso, Donna Havener, Linda Krier, Donnie Meyers, Chanca Morrell, Ann Page, Vickie Ray, Cheryl Skummer, Claudia Tiger and Cathy Weaver.

Play during the season rotates among eight clubs with each team hosting a match except for the club whose captain is the captain of captains for that particular year. In addition to Eagle’s Nest and Tuscany Falls, participating clubs include Arizona Traditions, Grand Valley, West Brook Vista, West Brook Lakes and two teams from Trailridge. For each match the ten members from each team with the currently lowest handicaps are chosen to make up the five two person teams who compete against another team in the league in match play. Tuscany Falls will host the league here February 21, 2018. Eagle’s Nest Captain Joanne Pollock is the Captain of Captains this year and thus will not host the league for play.

Throughout the season a running tally of scores is kept by the league for both low gross and net. This year the end of the season lunch and awards ceremony will be held after their final match on the Vistas Course at Westbrook Village Golf Club in Peoria on April 4, 2018.

Best of luck to all the PCLGA Cholla League players!
