If you are looking for a resource, try the newly updated Directory of Services. Please note that this directory is totally different from the Robson Source Book.
It is a compilation of resources for the PebbleCreek egroup, speaker presentations, facilitators, support groups, the Area Agency on Aging, organizations specializing in seniors, and resources obtained from the internet.
On the PC egroup, there are many requests for handymen, airport transportation, running errands, house watchers, window washers, golf cart repair, seamstresses, etc. They are in this directory and many of these resources are offered by PC residents. Also included are mobile services that come to your home, such as house calls by physicians and dentists, salon services, massage therapists, etc. There are government agencies, elder attorneys, and estate and financial planners. The list goes on and on.
Perhaps the most important reason to be familiar with the directory is to locate help when you or a loved one is ill. One of the main sections deals with products, programs, and organizations for support of various illnesses. Another portion lists where to get medical and non-medical assistance. Did you know you can make appointments when going to hospitals and urgent care? Some of the websites can even be helpful to friends or family all over the United States.
The directory is available for viewing on the Kare Bears website, www.karebears.org. Simply click on “Resources” and then on the tab for “Directory of Services.” You can view it or even download it and print a copy.
If you choose not to use the web, you can view the hard copy of the directory at the Kare Bears House or at the Eagle’s Nest and Tuscany Falls libraries. You can also get a copy at the UPS Store by Safeway on Litchfield and Indian School Road. The cost is $1 for all 43 pages. Such a deal!
