The Pet Companions Club of PebbleCreek is pleased to have as guest speaker at our October 4 General Meeting Dr. Pamela Boyd of the new Gentle Hearts Animal Hospital in Goodyear. We will meet at 3:00 p.m. in Room 100 of the Eagle’s Nest Activities Center. All PebbleCreek residents, whether club members or not, are invited to this free event. New residents of PebbleCreek are especially encouraged to attend.

Dr. Boyd, a graduate of Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine, has practiced in both the states of Washington and New York prior to moving to Arizona in 2010. She has been practicing veterinary medicine for over 22 years. She opened Gentle Hearts Animal Hospital here in Goodyear in April 2017. She will be speaking on current issues common to our Phoenix area, including Leptospirosis in dogs, Valley Fever, Tick Fever in dogs, heartworm disease and Feline Infectious Peritonitis in cats.

Because of the importance of our PebbleCreek residents coexisting successfully with coyotes in our community, we have asked resident Linda Bolon, the Arizona representative of Project Coyote, to be our guest speaker on Wednesday, November 1, 2017.

Project Coyote is a national non-profit organization that promotes educated coexistence between people and coyotes. Linda will present an in-depth educational and informational presentation on Urban Coyotes. With over 14 years’ experience on behalf of wildlife, Linda also works along with several other wildlife organizations such as Urban Wildlife Specialists within the Arizona Department of Game and Fish and speaks in other local communities.

All PebbleCreek residents, whether club members or not, are invited to attend this very important informational presentation to learn urban coyote behavior, biology, ecological importance, how and when to haze coyotes and most importantly, how to avoid conflicts. Linda will also answer your questions.

New residents are especially invited to attend. There is no charge. Please note: In anticipation of higher than normal attendance, this meeting only will be held in the Chianti Room in the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. We will meet at 3:00 p.m.

As always, there will be a box available for any donations such as: pet beds, pet food (check expiration date), pet toys, pet crates, cages, towels, blankets (no sheets or pillowcases, please), leashes, collars, etc. Those items not used for our PebbleCreek rescues will be donated to other local animal shelters.

Please address any questions to Jim or Marge Ellison at 623-935-6651.
