Glenn Miller Orchestra featuring the Flyboys – March 25

The first Glenn Miller Orchestra did not make it at all. It was a total and absolute economic failure. But Glenn knew what he wanted, held to that dedication and relentlessly worked to succeed. He launched his second band – the one that lives on today – in March of 1938. The Glenn Miller Orchestra has been a “hit” ever since. Today, the 18-member ensemble continues to play many of the original Miller arrangements both from the civilian band and the AAFB libraries. Just as it was in Glenn’s day, the Glenn Miller Orchestra today is still the most sought after big band in the world. The Flyboys are a unique four-piece vocal group featuring effortless vocals and sublime harmonies, reminiscent of the Four Freshmen and TAKE 6. Their sound and class will whisk you back to the golden age of big bands and jazz groups of the 30s and 40s, but this is where vintage meets modern. Audiences have not only raved about the show but have come back for the second performance to experience it all over again. There is nobody in the world doing what these guys do. If you are looking for something utterly special and incredibly unique then look no further. Performing timeless classics alongside their own brand of modern jazz and swing, they will give you a night you’ll never forget! Four amazing singers – One unique sound! Second show added at 3:00 p.m. On sale now online and at Activities; $35
