Lunch Bunch #10 Holiday Party

Jan Hover

The ladies of Lunch Bunch No. 10 enjoyed their fifth annual holiday luncheon on Thursday, December 7. Appetizers were at the home of Judy Quattrone, the salad/main dish were at the home of Kathy Smith and desserts were at the home of Jan Hover. Each lady brings something to share at one of the stops and the hostess provides beverages and one dish. Members of Lunch Bunch No. 10 include Lujean Anderson, Debbie Barbe, Linda Buetow, Joy Bole, Gloria Fulton, Helen Hohlstein, Myla Houle, Jan Hover, Tish Johnson-Church, Gail Jones, Deanna Lattari, Barb Meding, Kathy Pallett, Judy Quattrone, Kathy Smith, Jackie Vandenberg and Sandy Van Stee. Each lady takes a turn picking a restaurant to go to on the first Thursday of each month and sign-ups are well into 2019. Thanks to Jo Schaffer and Julie Williams for organizing us back in March of 2013.

Unit 19 Block Party

Barbara Risden and Donna Frole

December 17 started out cold and rainy, but by late morning it turned into a beautiful day for a block party. Unit 19 showed up in full force sharing appetizers, conversation, and comradery. About 60 people gathered on the cul-de-sac of Crenshaw Drive. We have a lot of new people in Unit 19 and it was great to meet them and see the other wonderful people who live in the unit.

Unit 41 annual Christmas Party

Nevin Nelson

Our annual Christmas party was held at the Chianti Room this year and was well attended by festive party goers who not only had wonderful food and conversation but were entertained by the white elephants brought by everyone. A good time was had by all. Thanks to Myra Saunders and her elves for her planning and decorations and thanks again to Chrystal Thomas and her crew for once again reminding us what beautiful events we have here in PebbleCreek.

Unit 51 ends 2017 with a bang

Our first Ladies’ Luncheon of 2018 was a new experience for many of us. Our hostess, Susan Harris, planned our January gathering at Zeta’s Grill on Dysart and Thomas. A few of the 18 of us had never been there or tasted Lebanese/Mediterranean cuisine before and were pleasantly surprised. A variety of dishes were enjoyed by all. We were happy to share this event with a couple newer ladies who have not been able to attend many unit functions yet, but sad to say farewell to a ten-year resident, Billie Gramlich, who was the first Unit 51 Rep when it was just getting started. Billie is moving back east to be closer to family. She will be missed and we all wish her and Jay well in their new home!

Unit 51 Ladies’ Luncheon

What an enjoyable way to end our year of Unit 51 Ladies’ Luncheons, though a small group of 10 attended (everyone knows how busy December is!), we had a fun time chatting about Thanksgiving visitors, Christmas plans, and new year resolutions! Dee Blount graciously hosted at Dillon’s KC Style Barbecue. At the Wildlife World Zoo we had an up close and personal view of the aquarium and watched the sharks swim by. Dee generously sent us all home with a Christmas gift bag full of dessert and goodies—how nice of her! We congratulated our neighbor who just sold their house, but also told Billie Gramlich that she and her husband Jay will be missed in Unit 51 when they move to Ohio to be closer to family. Here’s hoping everyone enjoyed a wonderful holiday season and may the new year be happy and healthy for each of us!

Unit 52 January Luncheon

Liz Gibson

The ladies who lunch enjoyed a fun get-together Wednesday, January 10 in the Toscana Board Room. The food and service were excellent and we had a chance to catch up on the holidays and travels.

On Thursday the very active social committee met with Chair Nancy Rosenfeld to plan the upcoming events for 2018. We have four major parties, 11 luncheons and usually some extra events thrown in.
