Thanks to the generosity of the PebbleCreek Pickleball Club, Therapy Paws received an early Christmas present this past December!

The Pickleball Board presented a check for $500 to several members of the Therapy Paws Board on December 22.

Therapy Paws is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on supporting therapy dog teams and working with various local facilities throughout the West Valley. Their mission is “To provide volunteerism in our community through the service of therapy animals who offer unconditional love to relieve stress, anxiety, grief or fear.”

Jean Reynolds, president and co-founder of Therapy Paws, explained, “If you aren’t familiar with therapy dogs and the work these dogs do with their owners, we pay visits to local facilities like hospitals, nursing homes, hospice care, memory care, battered women shelters, schools and libraries. These teams go through rigorous training, testing and certification. We currently have 34 teams, many of whom are residents of PebbleCreek and we are constantly growing! We use donated money to operate funding general administration expenses along with member support expenses such as uniformed shirts, ID badges, advanced training and the like.”

Mike Crabtree, 2015 President of the Pickleball Club added, “The Pickleball Club is not just a place where people can come together to enjoy the sport. It is a club comprised of members who care about the community and helping those who help others. Therapy Paws is a great organization and we were glad to have monies left over from our fall concert to support this worthy cause.”
