Wisconsin Party 2020

Pat Jensen

The 2020 Wisconsin party was a huge success. Two hundred-forty people celebrated Oktoberfest in February. With a German menu and Dale Mathis playing all of our favorite polkas on the accordion, a good time was had by all. Ten beautiful raffle baskets were won by some lucky people. Six other people won the card game and there were four lucky winners in the 50-50.

The emcee, Kevin Hillstrom, entertained all with his Wisconsin anecdotes. King Wilhelm (aka Frank Glowinski) made an appearance and posed for pictures with the guests.

Culver’s, once again, donated the cheese curds and their famous custard for dessert. Thank them when you go to their restaurant. We are anxiously awaiting the newest Culver’s restaurant on Estrella Boulevard, just down the road from us.

We collected $2,000 for Honor Flight Arizona. They were very grateful.

I want to thank all of the members of my committee: Shelley and Dan Borreson, Charlotte Norris, Jane Bokovy, Diane Seeber, Nancy Herrem, Kevin Hillstrom, Rose Mansell, Joy Bole, and Jim Staude along with our greeter, Sue White. Others who helped were Ivan and Mary Ann Pankov, Phil and Linda Vorlander, Steve Jensen, Arnie Norris, and our king Frank Glowinski and his wife Gloria.

My special thanks to all who attended and hope to see you all next year and bring your friends too. Next year’s date is Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, so put it on your calendar so you don’t forget.
