Oregon-Idaho State Picnic

Judy Hart

Are you from Oregon or Idaho? Did you live in Portland when you were seven? Was your grandmother raised in Twin Falls? How about that time you camped along the McKenzie River and caught your first steel head, or skied at Mt. Bachelor? Did you ever fish for salmon on the Snake River? If you can correctly pronounce “Willamette” then you’re officially recognized as a north westerner!

Whatever your connection to Oregon or Idaho, you’ll soon have the opportunity to rub elbows with others who may have similar stories.

The annual Oregon-Idaho State Picnic will be held on Sunday, March 8 from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Sunrise Park on the Eagle’s Nest side. Entry fee? None!

Bring your chair, your beverage, and an appetizer to share. Plates, napkins, and utensils will be provided.

The annual event always provides time for lots of fun conversation and opportunities to make new friends. Who knows? You may find that the kid who sat in front of you in fourth grade is now your PebbleCreek neighbor. Stranger things have happened!

Oh, and bone up on your Oregon and Idaho facts. There will be a quiz!

Questions? Call Betty Tomtan 623-535-1212, Lucy Saling 623-536-8420, or Judy Hart 541-747-4821.

Every year we choose a charity to share some of our bounty. This year we have chosen Honor Flight. This organization provides veterans of World War II and the Korean War a chance to go to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials honoring them.

Come to the party to meet old friends and make new ones who have a connection with Wisconsin. Bring a camera/phone for a photo op with our special guest. Our emcee is sure to have some interesting tidbits about our great state. Dress in your best Oktoberfest attire or just wear your favorite sports team colors. Any questions, contact Pat Jensen at 651-398-4419.
