The summer heat doesn’t keep us crazy tennis players away! The courts are filled at 7:00 a.m. and ready for play. Water, hats, sunglasses and gobs of sunscreen are everywhere! Courts 11 and 12 were resurfaced last month and our members are thrilled with the improved courts. We’ve had numerous positive comments.

Our June social was on Wednesday, June 17. Early morning tennis with breakfast sandwiches were served. More details in next month’s Post. The July 17 non-tennis Tennis Social will be an evening of Dessert in the Desert; no tennis play.

Our website is filled with information regarding everything you want to know about happenings in the Tennis Club. You can sign up for all current tournaments/socials at the top section with a simple mouse click. When you sign up, specify to play and dine or if you want to join us for dining only. Our Welcoming Committee contact information is listed for new members or existing members who have questions. All the specific programs our club has to offer are listed and if you are looking for a partner to hit with there is a section with players’ names and ranking listed. The section for Administrative Information shows Board member contact and Rules/By-laws. Monthly minutes are posted along with Ken’s monthly updated facilities report. You can also see How to reserve the ball machine. Don’t forget to buy your Tennis Club name tag. You may also see your smiling face in different articles or on the pictures gallery! Log on to our website and explore all the articles. If you are a new member, instructions how to log on are easy to follow at www.pebblecreektennis.org.

We continue our tennis racquet donation program for the kids at the Goodyear Parks and Recreation Department. The racquets donated by all of us are given to the less fortunate youths who are encouraged to join the summer tennis programs. The Pro at the Park District, Kevin Lyons, and our Club President Jerry Santy are working together to bring tournaments to PebbleCreek! Please donate all the racquets you are not using into the designated area at the Tuscany Tennis Center. We appreciate your donations.

Club programs continue throughout the summer months. Men’s drop-in meets every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m. at Eagle’s Nest courts; nonmembers welcome.
