It was a Friday evening, April 23, and approximately 90 people celebrated Passover by participating in a Seder ceremony led by Sandy and David Mednick. The Mednicks did a fantastic job conducting the service. They encouraged participation and almost everyone read from the Haggadah creating a sense of pride and ownership.

Mimi Birnel planned and executed the event. It took place in the Chianti Room which created a warm and inviting environment. The traditional foods were all served. It was a monumental task between planning, preparing, shopping, seating, cooking and so much more. This could never have been accomplished without the help of Fran Ackerman, Bruce Birnel, Eileen Baranco, Holly Birnel, Annette Blume, Wendy and Mark Frumkin, Dale Gartenberg, Bobbie Harris, Helene Hausner, Gloria Kornbluth, Marsha Langfuss, Martha Bergman, Mickey Reed, Carl and Esther Schatz, Ruth Schaffer, Bill and Arlene Silverman, Ann Silverstein, Hermine Sulzberg and Phil Zeitman.

Thank you to everyone for making this a wonderful holiday; a Seder that will be remembered by all!

Both mothers and fathers celebrated their day with a Mother/Father’s Day Brunch on Sunday, May 15. Over 30 people enjoyed each other’s company while dining in The Eagle’s Nest Palm Room. Judy Ruck planned this delicious brunch. Thanks, Judy!

It’s not too late to sign up and join us for the Ice Cream Social, which includes a wonderful movie, Tea with Mussolini, starring Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Lily Tomlin and Cher. This will take place at Tuscany Falls in the Chianti Room on June 12 at 6:30 p.m. Please sign up on the Shalom Club’s website or contact Judy Ruck.
