RV Club gathers at White Tank Regional Park

February seems to be the coming out month as the snowbirds migrate to warmer climates. Softball is in full swing, pickleball is clicking along, card rooms are full and frost delays are less of a nuisance. What is a wagon master to do with all that competition?

Well, book your campsite at White Tank Regional Park! That is where an impromptu caravan grew into a gathering of 12 RVs and 22 campers from February 17 to 21. From the park you can drive a short distance to the activities in PebbleCreek and then return to the camp for social hour, campfire, clear night skies, park sponsored hikes and a most beautiful panorama of the Valley of the Sun.

Special weekend bonuses included the International Space Station fly-over Saturday evening and the weekend Arts and Crafts fair sponsored by Friends of the White Tanks.

You just can’t match the absolute quiet as the sun rises over the East Valley and you savor that first sip of hot coffee. No generators break the silence because the campsites have electric and water hook-ups.

So February’s impromptu fun will now give way to March Madness as the club prepares for two caravans, one to Eloy for the Civil War Reenactment at Picacho Peak and another to the Verde Valley/Cottonwood area.

The RV Club meets the first Wednesday of each month in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom at 3:00 p.m. Come join the fun.
