Rug Hookers to present their talents at upcoming festival

Dee-Dee Patrick

It’s that time of the year again! The Creative Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, October 25. The Rug Hookers of PebbleCreek will have a booth at which you can see some of the finished products completed by members of the group and discuss primitive rug hooking with them. Since the hookers will be working on current projects during the festival, you can watch the actual process of hooking various designs with wool. We will be glad to answer any questions you may have and show you the supplies needed for this craft.

Prior to the festival a hooked pillow of a country cabin, “No. 12 Cabin by Cactus Needle,” will be on display along with other donated items in the Creative Arts Center. This item was lovingly worked on and donated by Karen Lubahn and Kathy Garner. Karen did the hooking of the design and Kathy did the finishing. The pillow is 12 inches in diameter and would look great in a home with casual country decor or most homes in the northern climes. Tickets for the drawing may be purchased in the Gallery before the festival or on the day of the event. The actual drawing will be held on the day of the festival, October 25.

If you are unable to meet us at the festival, the Rug Hookers meet every Monday afternoon from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the Fiber Arts Room of the Creative Arts Center. For further information contact our current club President Karen Lubahn at [email protected] or phone her at 623-935-9045.
