Rovin’ Pebbles celebrate Christmas

Len Magsamen

Tis the season! As we all prepared for the holy holiday of Christmas, members of PebbleCreek’s Rovin’ Pebbles RV Club took time out of their busy schedules to celebrate Christmas together on Wednesday, December 6.

Nearly 100 members gathered in the Tuscany Ball Room. Festivities started with their traditional happy hour and appetizers, followed by a sit down dinner of beef or chicken.

After dinner, the club president, DK Loo, recognized all the new 2017 members (39), including Richard Anderson and Virginia Mouw, Susie Nash and Allen King, Charles and Diana Cox, Bob and Suzy Burwick, Bill and Linda Boyd, Carol Ann Yamamoto, Vernon and Nancy McGee, Paula Handrup and Clark Neal, Scott and Pam Phillips, Bob and Deb Doyle, Gordon and Karol Glover, Ted and Debbie Diehl, Jim and Kathy Morris, Mike and Ellie Love, Bob and Linda Wainman, Jim and Debbie Stephens, Dennis and Colleen McClung, Gene Loher and Iris Weise, Rick and Marcia Galloway and the return of Jim and Marion Wilson.

The Rovin’ Pebbles are a successful RV Club because of all the volunteers that made 2017 a great year for the club. Honored were Lou and Carolyn DeCarolis, Stan and Brenda Peterson, Debbie Blaine, Betty East, Marian Hansen-Kaucheck, Pam Loo, Marcia McCubbins, Sharon Oehlerking, Cher Zeman, Clint Alston, Barry and Doty Taschner, Len and Julie Magsamen, Chris and Lana Raptopolus, Tom and Carol Burford, Sam and Kathy Smith, Doug and Cindee Krause, Jim East and Jeff and Judy Harris.

The club then honored members who have been Wagon Masters ten times, including Jim and Betty East and Sharon Oehlerking. Also honored were ten-year members, Ole and Edie Lodberg, Leonard and Paula Maitland, and Barb Wood.

Topping off the evening was the honoring of fifteen-year and twenty-year members Ted and Sharon Oehlerking (15 years) and founding member Phil Batton (20 years).

In celebration of all our volunteers, a special slide show was featured during dinner with memories of the caravans and events in this past year.

After the awards presentation, the Rovin’ Pebbles took to the dance floor to enjoy the sounds of the fabulous Thaddeus Rose and his band. After about three hours of dancing, the Rovin’ Pebbles retreated to their homes to recover.

The event organizing committee consisted of Lana Raptopolus, Cindy Hix, Pam Loo, and Chris Raptopolus. Your passion was evident. They have set the bar very high.

The Rovin’ Pebbles is a voluntary organization of PebbleCreek residents interested in recreational camping. The club consists of more than 130 members and 69 RVs. The club conducts approximately ten caravans each year, along with four to six special events. The club meets on the first Wednesday of every month (except in the summer) in the Eagles Nest Ballroom at 3:00 p.m. If you are interested in joining, we invite you to join us at one of our monthly meetings.

On behalf of the Rovin’ Pebbles, we wish you a Happy New Year.
