Cinco de Mayo was done and it was time for the Italian-Americans to have lunch at a local restaurant. This month it was to be Romano’s Macaroni Grill. Our gracious hosts were Tom and Linda Orlando. We had 26 members show up Saturday, May 6 to experience the cuisine of the Macaroni Grill. We were cordially greeted by Day Manager Robert Webb and the friendly wait staff of Sky Lynn Jordan and Stephanie Jefferson. They did a superb job of serving our group who would order from a special limited menu. Our worthy President Ken Minichiello made a few announcements, mostly to do with future meetings and lunches. The next meeting will be in September. The next lunch will be at Angel’s Café on Wednesday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. This lunch will be hosted by Jim and Carol Roberts and promises some surprises for all.

Romano’s Macaroni Grill is the scene of PebbleCreek entertainer Bart Ventura, who presents much of the music of Frank Sinatra. The restaurant itself was well lighted and quite large with a totally open concept. The décor was nice and appropriate with a wine wall going practically from floor to ceiling. The kitchen was open and exposed for all to see the chefs preparing the orders and it had a gas-fired open-hearth oven. The membership enjoyed the cuisine of the Macaroni Grill and several indicated they would like to return.
