Pottery/Sculpture Club’s featured artist Kim Corbel

Jeff Wilson

The Pottery/Sculpture Club featured artist for September is Kim Corbel. She loves to spend her free time transforming everyday flowers into unique, personalized arrangements.

Kim discovered her passion for flowers while working for a small-town florist in Maryland at the age of 17. Starting with Hallmark cards as her responsibility, she was quickly promoted to floral designer because of her creative eye and enthusiasm. Her most memorable event as a designer was working on the team that made the flower arrangements for Ronald Reagan’s inauguration.

Kim and her husband Randy moved to PebbleCreek in 2014 after spending 30 years in Maryland raising their three daughters. Kim’s career in Maryland was teaching middle school English before becoming a middle school principal. Since moving to PC, Kim has not slowed down. She works four days a week teaching middle school English at a nearby private school, works evenings teaching floral design and teaches water aerobics three days a week. Kim has endless amounts of energy and her positive attitude is contagious. Kim loves helping people to discover their own creativity. She says, “I feel blessed to call PebbleCreek home.”

Examples of Kim’s creations can be seen in the display case outside the pottery room. Signups for her September fall centerpiece and wreath class will be in the Expressions Gallery in the Creative Arts Center the first week
of September.
