A pillow to give you comfort

Rayma Scalzo

Our PebbleCreek Breast Cancer Discussion Group has a supply of heart pillows made by the PebbleCreek Quilters. They will be given to any woman undergoing surgery for a lumpectomy or mastectomy. The pillows have been designed to bring comfort while recovering from surgery. They are placed underneath the arm and are held in place by a piece of elastic. This relieves the pressure on the incision. Another use for the pillow is to place it under the car seatbelt so there is no pressure on the breast.

If you would like to obtain a pillow, please call Rayma Scalzo at 935-1819. She will be happy to bring it to your home. It is important to request it prior to surgery so you can get the maximum benefit from it immediately following surgery. Please be sure to pass this information along to friends who might benefit from it.

Our discussion group will meet on Thursday, February 26 from 10:00 a.m. to noon in the Capri Room at Tuscany. Dr. Rich Shildt, Oncologist, will be present to answer any questions you may have. Husbands or significant others are encouraged to attend. At the conclusion of each meeting many of us go to lunch at Toscana’s Restaurant; hope you will join us.
