PebbleCreek Live On Stage

A (Virtual) Night at The Renaissance Theater

Laurie Farquhar

Tired of watching reruns on television? Wishing you could enjoy some live theater? While our Renaissance Theater remains closed, ShowTime and PC Players are offering you a chance to relive some of their best productions from the past 10 years with their A (Virtual) Night at the Renaissance Theater series.

Every Friday evening, you can log in to their free Zoom webinars from the comfort of your living room and enjoy all of the great music, dancing, and comedy that you have come to expect from ShowTime and PC Players.

Here is the line-up of videos to be shown during December.

Friday, Dec. 4: A Night at the Renaissance. The all-star comedy show based on the 1960s TV series Laugh In that raised money to expand the theater’s backstage area. This was a collaboration with ShowTime, PC Players, PC Singers, and PC Musicians.

Friday, Dec. 11: Arsenic and Old Lace. Beware of little old ladies offering glasses of homemade elderberry wine.

Friday, Dec. 18: White Christmas. This classic Irving Berlin musical will get you into the holiday spirit.

The curtain goes up at 7 p.m., but log in at 6:45 p.m. and join the Backstage Talk pre-show. This is when a few of the crew and cast members from that evening’s production share some of the funnier moments backstage.

A link for each webinar will be available in Monday’s PebbleNews, on the HOA website, and in an email sent out to the PebbleCreek E-group on Wednesday.

You know how much you enjoy going to the Renaissance Theater with your friends, but since that’s not possible right now, then let the theater come to you. If you encourage your friends to log in as well, then you can chat with each other during the show using the webinar’s chat feature. It will feel like old times!

PebbleCreek Singers Holiday Greetings

Diane Piehl

Season’s greetings! It had been our hope to present our annual Christmas program to usher in the holidays. However, our theater remains closed due to the COVID-19 virus. Chorus members have their holiday music in hand and are practicing it at home. By December 2021, we should be more than ready to share the songs of the season with the PebbleCreek community.

Spring of 2021 is still in question. Having rehearsed for two months on our music, we have a great head start for that future day when the Renaissance Theater reopens. Watch for updates in the Pebblecreek Post and PebbleNews.

To tell you we miss singing would be an understatement. This has been a difficult time for all performing arts groups worldwide, but there have been many creative ways to weather this storm. The Singers’ board is continually brainstorming and trying to think outside the box to determine a way to reach out to the community with song. We miss performing for our friends, neighbors, and families and are eager to return to rehearsals and the concert stage.

On behalf of the PebbleCreek Singers, we wish you a wonderful holiday season. Director Jerry Drake and the chorus members look forward to our return to the theater to present spring and holiday concerts.
