PebbleCreek Lady Niners Enjoy Play at Falcon Dunes

The Lady Niners took advantage of playing the Falcon Dunes course at Luke Air Force Base on October 13. It is always special to play at Falcon Dunes and the maximum 44 spots available were filled quickly by the Lady Niners. It was a gorgeous day and having the F-16’s and F-35’s flying overhead made it even more exciting, even with a little extra background noise! Several of the Lady Niners’ new members played the four person scramble, which was a great way to start their Lady Niners experience. Everyone enjoyed a light lunch after golf and, of course, a little shopping in the Pro Shop. The Lady Niners hope to arrange an event at Falcon Dunes again next year during over seeding at PebbleCreek!

Away Play at Palm Valley

Never wanting to miss playing golf on Tuesday league day, the Lady Niners had another Away Play date on October 27 at Palm Valley while overseeding was taking place at the PebbleCreek courses. It was an 18 hole outing on the Lakes Course at Palm Valley. Closest to the Pin prizes were awarded with Albert Hohn taking the honors on Hole No. 8 and Barb Sanford, who almost had a hole-in-one, coming closest on Hole No. 15. Christie Houser was the lucky winner of a free round of golf for the Lakes Course at Palm Valley.

Another fun day of golf was followed by lunch in the Wedding Annex next to the clubhouse. While it’s nice to play other courses sometimes, the Lady Niners are anxious to get back on the Eagle’s Nest and Tuscany Falls courses starting November 10!

Membership Vote on Revised Constitution and By-Laws

A committee of Lady Niners has been working through the summer to update and clarify various provisions of the Association’s Constitution and By-Laws. After several reviews and discussion by the Officers and Board, a final draft was presented at the Board meeting on September 15 and approved for submittal to the full membership. Membership then voted on the proposed changes before golf on November 10. Alberta Hohn and Judy Myers manned the voting table as the Lady Niners cast their votes for the proposed changes.

The Lady Niners are in full swing and have many great activities coming up. With the Kick-Off event, Holiday Luncheon, Fill-a-Need project and the first of the qualifying rounds for the Robson Challenge all coming up before the end of the year the Lady Niners will be a very busy group. But, with the 30-plus new members and so many dedicated veteran members, you can count on an exciting time through the end of the year and into 2016 for sure!
