The PebbleCreek Democratic Club board members and Social Committee welcomed 13 of their newest members at our Newcomer Social on Thursday, April 5 at Frankie and Chuck Veltri’s home. These are the members who joined between February and March. Our club goal is to have new members attend one social gathering, dedicated to them, soon after joining. It’s a chance for new members to meet each other and some of the “old” gang at a smaller, more intimate, informal gathering.
On April 22, we will be saying “so long, see you in the fall” to our snowbird members at our spring Hawaiian Luau luncheon in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. With the snowbirds leaving soon, our official meetings are in hiatus; however, that doesn’t mean those of us remaining in Arizona will not be getting together for various events. In May, we will be going to the Herberger Theater to see a play entitled, Church and State. It should spark some lively discussion among our theater-goers. We will continue our participation at the Summer TV Dinners here in PebbleCreek and celebrate Thanksgiving in July at Eagle’s Nest Restaurant. The Social Committee will be working on the fall line-up of activities over the next few months.
