PebbleCreek Community Church hosts Black and White Dinner

Becky Chapman

On April 22 our PebbleCreek Community Church members and their guests came together in fellowship with an evening of fun and flair. Potlucks and myriad other events are regularly celebrated by our congregation, but this annual special event gives each of us an opportunity to break out the black tie and special dress. This was our fourth annual black and white dinner, held this year in our Tuscany Falls Clubhouse Chianti Room.

This event, which lends itself to a more formal evening for our congregation and guests, is also a farewell to many of our snowbirds. One highlight of the evening was a social time in the Portofino Lounge prior to dinner. Tasty hors d’oeuvres were served along with beverages in the congenial atmosphere that prompted great conversation.

When the doors to the dining room were opened, beautifully decorated tables with glass cylinders on black table linens were revealed. Tall water-filled cylinders had shiny black jewels in the bottom and floating candles on top. Pretty red rose petals were scattered on the tables; small lighted votives added effect. Thanks to the efforts of our Fellowship Committee and friend Crystal Thomas, the ambiance was clearly enjoyed by all.

Highlighting the evening was entertainment by Triple Trouble. The trio is comprised of Pat Ingalls, Bev Griggs and Patrice Cole. They are, of course, known to many of us from their performances with the PebbleCreek Singers and other theater activities. We enjoyed several beautiful solos and trio selections.

We will look forward to next year’s Black & White event. Until then, please consider joining with our congregation for church services and fellowship Sunday mornings starting at 9:00 a.m. in our Eagle’s Nest Ballroom when we transform it into a place of worship.  www.pebblecreekchurch.org
