PebbleCreek Community Church fall mission schedule

The missions committee and the chaplains’ ministry of PebbleCreek Community Church (PCCC) are busy finalizing plans for speakers and hands-on activities for the fall. On September 30 Dr. Allan Sawyer, a local OB-GYN surgeon from Peoria, will be our guest speaker to talk about some of his recent experiences on behalf of Samaritan’s Purse World Medical Missions in Africa. He has been training doctors in surgical procedures in African mission hospitals for many years. Dr. Sawyer will speak during our regular Sunday worship service at 9:00 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. We invite everyone to come and hear his interesting report.

Aqua Fria Food and Clothing Bank receives help from PCCC during the year with food and clothing donations, recycling plastic bags and other needs. During the holidays the missions committee coordinates Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner baskets for our local community. Volunteers are always needed to organize the food, pack the baskets and distribute them at Aqua Fria’s Food and Clothing Bank facility in Avondale. If you would like to help in this worthy cause, please contact PC resident Phylice Walton or Susan Preston for more information.

Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child shoe box ministry is a big activity in the fall for PCCC. Small hygiene items, school supplies and cuddly stuffed toys are collected all year and in late fall packed into shoe boxes. These shoe boxes are distributed around the world to children, some of whom have never received a Christmas gift. Watch for the shoe box packing party date and come help us pack shoe boxes. We plan to pack several hundred again this year at the packing party to add to those packed by individuals. The boxes are collected and dedicated at a special service, which this year is November 18 as part of our Sunday morning worship service.

PCCC chaplains’ ministry is again offering a class this fall, “Finding Joy in Lifestyle Changes.” The class helps our friends and neighbors work through the difficult loss of a loved one. This class is offered to all PebbleCreek residents. Watch for more information about dates and times for this event.

Our church is a non-denominational community of Christian believers that meets for worship every Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom, which becomes our sanctuary on Sunday mornings. We welcome everyone to join us on Sundays. More information is at www.pebblecreekchurch.org.
