PCSSA remembers those who played the game

Fred Dresser

The PebbleCreek Senior Softball Association (PCSSA) erected a memorial wall to remember those players who played the game before us. These individuals were not just softball players, they were husbands, fathers, brothers and friends. They enjoyed the spirit of the game as well as the friendships that were developed over the years.

Many current players remember their contributions to the game and to this special league. For the new players just coming into this league, these players who came before helped to make this league what it is today.

The memorial wall is located on the visitor’s side of the field and displays their individual names. Take a moment to stop by to remember these players and read the following inscription on the wall.

“For when the Great Scorekeeper comes to write about your name,

He writes not that you won or lost, but how you played the game.”

The inscription speaks to every one of us, ballplayer or not.
