PCSSA first half coming to a close

Fred Dresser

It’s hard to imagine that the first half for the twenty-third season for the PebbleCreek Senior Softball season is almost over. Two hundred thirty-four games are in the books. What started on October 28, 2017 will conclude on January 18. By the time you read this article, the second half will already have started on January 20.

It’s been a great first half with plenty of exciting games, and great plays made by players possessing twenty-year-old brains telling fifty-plus-year-old bodies you can do it and the bodies responding by saying, “OK brain get ready for the pain.”

The second half of the season will be just as exciting as the first half as the teams battle to make the playoffs at the end of the season. Managers will be analyzing, strategizing and motivating their players to finish the season strong.

Managing is a full-time job and many managers have developed an additional gray hair or two this season. Billy Martin,(former New York Yankees Manager) once was quoted as saying, “When I get through managing, I’m going to open up a kindergarten.”

Our next article that will appear in the March issue will recognize those players that have played fifteen plus years in this great league.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to take in a game come on down to the Robson Field of Dreams Field and enjoy watching Adult Little League at its finest.
