The PebbleCreek Men’s Golf Association (PCMGA) played its third annual pro-member golf tournament on Sept. 25, at the Tuscany Falls East Golf Course. The former director of golf, Jason Whitehill, brought the idea of a professional/amateur event to the PCMGA three years ago. Our new director of golf, John McCahan, is carrying on that tradition and was instrumental in arranging for professional golfers from the valley to play with PCMGA members in a fun and exciting event.

Each team was comprised of one professional and three PCMGA members. A total of 24 teams competed. The pros under 50 years of age played from the black tees, and those over 50 played the blue tees. The members played from the blue or white tees. The pros played scratch (zero handicap), and the members played using their current USGA handicaps. All of our PebbleCreek professionals (John McCahan, Ronnie Decker, Dave Vader, and Mark Hernon) participated as well as General Manager Bill Barnard and Director of Instruction Dennis Downs. Jason Whitehill even traveled from his new home in Minnesota to participate.

The members and their professional teammate competed using a one gross/one net score format. The professionals also competed in a stroke play and skins game.

Winners (score in parenthesis):

1st place: Scott Giles, Nick Castiglione, James Seith, and Jon Stanley* (-27).

2nd place: Reuben Rivera, Richard Mariotti, Kirk Harrison, and Dennis Downs* (-22).

3rd place: John McCrickard, Jerry Davis, Nelson Shahon, and John McCahan* (-20).

Many thanks to the food and beverage staff for providing a great meal after play in the Tuscany Ballroom. Also, many thanks to John, Dennis, and the entire PebbleCreek golf staff for organizing this event.
