On December 13 the PCM9GA hosted a Step-Aside Scramble Tournament at the Eagle’s Nest course. As is the custom with all tournaments, the Golfing Niners used the USGA Tournament Live Scoring system during play. A/B flighted groups played off the front nine, while C/D flighted players played the back nine holes.
Winners were as follows:
A/B Flight- Front Nine: three teams tied for First Place. Positions determined by Score Card Playoff: 1st Place, Score 35, Mitch Counce, Gary Gallagher, Joe Volstromer and Jerry Matousek. 2nd Place, Score 35, Rich McCurdy, Al Jerman, Bill Wagner, Jr. and Rich Schmidt. 3rd Place, Score 35, Willard Bradswhaw, Pat Watkins, Bob Mantucca and Jim Quattrone.
C/D Flight – Back Nine: 1st Place, Score 34, Gil Butson, Ken Knox, Marion Helton and Larry Larson. Two teams tied for Second Place. Position determined by Score Card Playoff: 2nd Place, Score 35, Dave Kennedy, Don Clark, Frank Hylton and Erv Stein. 3rd Place, Score 35, Doug Smith, Bob Nelson, Angelo Fergione and Jeff Carren.
Closest to the Pin Winners: Hole 4, Bill Lansing; Hole 8, Bill Wagner, Jr.; Hole 12, Angelone Fergione; Hole 17, Larry Larson.
