PCM9GA kicks off winter season tournament play

On Nov. 7, 92 returning PCM9GA players from The Golfing Niners kicked off the fall season with a tournament at Eagle’s Nest. The Tournament featured 23 teams playing a Scramble Format on both nines of the course. Creekers who stayed the summer as well as returning Sandbaggers who left the summer Arizona heat showed off their competitive skills and shared stories after the round over refreshments on the EN Patio. The winners were as follows.

Front nine teams

1st place – net score 27: John Heinz, Bob Mantucca, Rick Fulton, and Bill Schroeder.

Tie 2nd place – (SCP) score 28: Rene’ Lefevbre, Ole Lodberg, Randy Vicek, and Larry Larson.

Tie 3rd place – (SCP) score 28: Tim Mohler, Dave Smith, Kerry Walsh, and Don Burrows.

Back nine teams

1st place – score 26: Fred Schmidt, Gary Houser, Pat Sherlock, and Joe Pariseau.

2nd place – score 27: Joe Oliver, Doyle Blaylock, Don Gillfillan, and Joe Belonax.

3rd place – score 28; Jim Mitchell, Greg Ray, Louis Beaulieu, and Mickley Osterneck.

Closest to pin winners: hole 4: Ed Kosnoski; hole 8: John Heinz; hole 12: Doyle Blaylock; and hole 17: Mitch Lincoln.

Longest Putt: hole 9 – 18 feet, 3 inches: Chris Mucha; hole 18 – 27 feet 5 inches: Jim Martin.
