PCLGA players participate in Just for Fun Days

From February to September, the AWGA schedules “Just 4 Fun” days at outstanding venues throughout the state from Tubac Golf Club in the south, to Verrado Golf Club in the west valley and three stops in Scottsdale at Kierland Golf Club, Troon North and TPC Scottsdale. In Payson, players had the opportunity to play The Rim Golf Club and Chaparral Pines, plus Prescott Golf Club and StoneRidge in the Prescott Valley area.

PebbleCreek Ladies Golf Association (PCLGA) members have participated in many of the events throughout the year. Seven players, Judy Newell, Becky Rio, Ellen Enright, Andrea Dilger, Teresa Christianson, Kathy Enegren and Donnie Meyers, recently traveled to Firerock Country Club in Fountain Hills to play in the last one of the season. Ellen Enright reported that Firerock is a beautiful course and, as always, it was a “fun” day!

The goal of the “Just 4 Fun” days is two-fold: allow AWGA members to play golf in a more relaxed atmosphere with their friends or family (perhaps non-AWGA members who may wish to join) and to have fun playing a great golf course. There is no specific format for play. Some groups keep score and have a fun game, while other groups play just for fun.

Look for next year’s schedule and plan to take advantage of this opportunity. Remember that PCLGA members are automatically members of the AWGA. For more information, contact Carolyn Suttles, who is our AWGA representative, or checkout the website www.awga.org.
