“Life’s a Beach” was the theme for the PCLGA Member/Member Tournament held March 6 and 7, 2018 on the Falls, Palms and Lakes courses. Tournament co-chairs Patty Brown and Donna Monk, who stepped in to replace Nancy Williams after she moved, did a terrific job of organizing the tournament.
The weather was beautiful as 184 PCLGA members played in the two-day, Partners Best Ball Eclectic event. It was great to be able to take the best score on each hole over the two days resulting in some low “rounds” being shot and a lot of ties.
Six teams were paid in each of six flights. Congratulations to the following winners:
First Flight: 1st: Andrea Dilger and Sheri Sears; 2nd 3-way tie: Kathy Hubert-Wyss and Barbara Patrow, Liz Mitchell and Kittie Day, Mary Harris and Barbara McKinney
Second Flight: 1st tie: Cherrie Pierson and Lisa Reichert, Karen Myers and Jan DeHaven; 3rd 3-way tie: Judy Newell and Joanne Pollock, Barbara Rossi and Jenna Ridgeway, Vicki Ray and Karen Poturalski
Third Flight: 1st: Karen Smith and Ruth Shaffer; 2nd: Ingried Sigovich and Barb Guthier; 3rd 4-way tie: Rosemary Kurtz and Joanne Metivier, Ellen Stergulz and Arlene Engelbert, Nancy Hernandez and Mary Neeley, Patricia Sabourin and Bev Heron.
Fourth Flight: 1st: Lea Morse and Carol Wolf; 2nd: Kathy Black and Gretchen Olberding; 3rd: Jewel White and Alice Lewis.
Fifth Flight: 1st: Carole Mathias and Nan Perkins; 2nd 3-way tie: Tricia Self and Linda Thompson, Carol Taylor and Tess Braden, Diane Galewski and Susan Bentson.
Sixth Flight: 1st 4-way tie: Sue White and Kathleen Carney, Karen Stadjuhar and Cindy Tollefson, Carol Adkins and Susan Harris, Nancy DerManuel and Geanie Aldridge.
After the tournament, a delicious lunch that included both a shrimp Louie and a green salad bar was served, along with rolls and cake.
The election of PCLGA officers for next year was also held and the results were as follows: President Marilyn Reynolds (for her second term), Vice President Chanca Morrell (also her second term), Secretary Kathleen Carney and Treasurer Linda Sweet. Congratulations to the new officers. Their term will begin on June 1, 2018.
