On August 8, 2017 the PCLGA held its annual Summer Sizzler, which this year was called Flip Flop Fun. Over 50 ladies braved the heat and had a great time in sunglasses and some creative footwear. Tournament Chairs Cherrie Pierson and Vicki Ray chose a fun format of two net best balls on the front nine and Cha Cha Cha on the back nine.
The lunch was a yummy barbecued pork sandwich and slaw with orange cake and German Chocolate cake for desert. The table decorations were unique to the theme and so darn cute. The centerpiece was a large basket filled with netting and flip flops and a giant pair of sunglasses sat near the basket. Our hostesses set a fun tone wearing hats made out of a flip flops, a flower and netting. All the ladies had a wonderful day in spite of the heat.
There were two flights in the tournament and the winners were: First Flight: Liz Wenzler, Nancy Kyle, Carolyn Suttles and Marilyn Reynolds; Second Flight: Mary Rollins, Nancy Dusenberry, Diane Faulkner and Jane Richards. Congratulations ladies and thanks to all who joined in the fun.
