There was a sea of pink on April 7 as the PCLGA held one of its biggest events of the season. The Amazing Race for the Cure tournament raised $7131 for the National Foundation for Cancer Research.

The money was raised from selling raffle tickets for the many baskets full of goodies donated by groups or individuals; donations were made for the pinwheels that were labeled with names of people that have cancer or had died of cancer and 50/50 tickets were also sold.

An impressive Pinwheel Garden was displayed by the practice putting green on the day of play. We had road blocks, detours, fast forward and express passes to make our golfing so much fun. Hamburgers, chips and soda were served in the Tuscany Ballroom. Roses were presented to all the ladies that have survived cancer.

Since there were no money winners Ronnie read the names of the first place bragging rights winners in all six flights. Next came the drawings for all the beautiful baskets and the two 50/50 raffle winners. Congratulations to all of these lucky ladies.

Special thanks to Holly Stark and Marylou Furaus for all of their work and imagination in making this a wonderful tournament.
