Memory Matters

The annual charity tournament was held on January 17 at the Tuscany Falls Golf Course. The tournament was chaired by Kathy Dolan and Mary Lacy. This year’s theme was Memory Matters which supported Alzheimer’s Research. Members donated to Alzheimer’s Association Desert Southwest in honor of a loved one or friend. The Millennium High School Girl’s Golf Team played in the event. The Niners presented a check to the girls to support their golf program. Winners for the Falls Golf Course were Joyce Rustman, Marielle Ramsey, Brooke Veres (MHS) and Charlotte Krause. Winners for the Palms Golf Course were Suzanne Butler, Caryl Strole (MHS), Jane Kelly, and Carolyn Koberg.

AWGA Medallion Tournament

The AWGA held its Medallion Tournament in PebbleCreek on January 14 and 15. Six Lady Niners played in this event. Low gross champions were Bonnie Bruce, Char Morrow and Cheryl Brodbeck. Low net champions were Lorene Greer, Judy Myers and Barbara Purpura. Bonnie Bruce and Judy Myers took first place in the Copper Division.

Winter ParTee

The theme for this year’s winter ParTee event was Red, White and Blue Party. It was a fun Sunday afternoon with great weather. This event was chaired by Karen Morgan and Pat Engelmann and included dinner and prizes after golf. Each of the Lady Niners invited a guest to play in the event. First place winners on the Falls Course were Kathy and Greg Sork and Kathy and Jim Sheard. Closest to the pin member was Pat Engelmann. Closest to the pin guest was Jim Belina. Winners on the Palms course were Lynn Bishop-Pidcock, Patti Engelhardt and Renee and Bob Chester. Closest to the pin member was Vicki Shaner. Closest to the pin guest was Tom Sand.
