PCL9GA hosts spring “Par-Tee” event

Installation of Officers

On April 25 the Lady Niners installed the officers for the 2017-2018 season. After golf the installation ceremony was held. The old officers passed a rose to the new officers. Members of the new board are Patty Greene, president, Barbara Hockert, president elect, Melissa D’Onofrio, secretary and Lorene Greer, treasurer.

Spring Par Tee

The season’s second Par Tee event was held April 30 at the Tuscany Falls Golf Course. Each of the Lady Niners invited a guest to play in the event. Chaired by Karen Morgan and Pat Engelmann, the afternoon included dinner and prizes after golf. Each four-person team scored two best balls on each hole. Winners for the Falls Course were first place Kathy and Jack Doerwald, Bonnie and Rich Elliott and second place Janis and Dave Korba, Kay and Jim Daugherty. For the Palms Course the winners were first place Pat and Jack Englemann, Roberta and Doug Ginter and second place Hattie Mulcahy, Shawn Mayer, Pat and Gene Howard.

Sun City Grand

On May 2 many of the Lady Niners went to Sun City Grand to play with the ladies in their nine-hole league in the Sun City Grand Invitational, Rumble in the Desert. The format was a nine-hole scramble with players from both leagues in each foursome. It was followed by lunch and prizes. Winners for the event on the front nine were Linda Smith, Diana Berty, Rosemary Palmer and Suzanne Butler. Closest to the pin was Lee Lanan and the longest drive was Sue Jaffe. On the back nine the winners were Shellie Carbone, Phyllis Lefebvre, Lorri Eggen and Diana Bedwell. The closest to the pin was Kathy Tobin and the longest drive was Carole Schumacher.
