Pictured are six PebbleCreek members of Valley of the Sun Ski Club on the slopes in Telluride, Colorado. The club enjoyed great trips to Aspen and Steamboat Springs in January and February but saved the best for last. On March 1, forty seven club members boarded a comfortable bus for the drive to the historic mining town of Telluride for a fantastic week of skiing. Mother Nature did her part and covered the area with over two feet of fresh snow. The first two days were overcast but with abundant powder and the last two days were sunny, Chamber of Commerce days with outstanding conditions and scenery, including the iconic Mt. Wilson, inspiration for the image on Coors cans. The snow not only provided great skiing but also helped replenish the Rocky Mountain snowpack; very important for states dependent on water from the Colorado River. Although the Telluride trip was the last of the current season, the club plans to have exciting trips for the 2015-2016 season and the November meeting will kick off the new season. Club meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month in the Webb Room at the SCW Foundation, 14465 W. RH Johnson Boulevard, Sun City West (just a short drive from PebbleCreek).
