Our tutor volunteers are teaching English language skills to non-English speaking adults in the west valley so they can become productive in our communities.
Southwest Valley Literacy offers Tutor Training Workshops several times a year. You do not need to speak any language other than English. You do not need teaching experience. We have 25 adults on the wait list for a tutor.
Upon completion of the two-day workshop, you will be certified by ProLiteracy America as an ESL tutor.
It is a chance to give back to your community as well as to change the life of someone, not to mention the immense fulfillment you will feel.
