Hiker Surpasses 10,000 Miles Hiked

Pete Williams

Lynn Warren, a member of the PebbleCreek Hiking Club, surpassed 10,000 miles on May 27, 2020. Since joining the club in May 2011, he has averaged over 1,000 miles a year. In the 16 years the club has been tracking member miles, Lynn is only the second hiker to reach this milestone. He has been very active in the club and has held the positions of vice president for four years, and coordinator for B level for several more. In addition, Lynn is heavily involved with our SmugMug photo website, and is the main photographer on B level hikes, doing a superb job of documenting their adventures.

Check out our website, pchikers.org, for more photos and information about the club. The next club meeting will be the third Thursday in September.

Hiker Reaches 3,000 Milestone

Lynn Warren

Wayne Wills gave up the farmlands of Minnesota for the rocky trails of Arizona in 2015. Since then, he has been active in the Hiking Club, participating in “B,” “C,” and “D” hikes, including leading numerous hikes. For the past couple of years, Wayne has also served the club as chairman of the Safety Committee, an important position considering the challenges of heat, hydration, and other issues on the trails. For the upcoming season, he will serve on a team of hike coordinators. On May 21, after a delay of two months because of the pandemic, Wayne reached a major club milestone of 3,000 miles on an interesting hike in Ford Canyon. The Hiking Club restarted official hikes in May, incorporating CDC and HOA guidelines, so visit the club’s website at pchikers.org for updates and pictures.
