New officers poised to carry on mission of thriving Singles Club

PC Singles Club Presidents, past, present and future, were on hand to celebrate Halloween at the group’s recent potluck dinner dance in the Eagle’s Nest Ballroom. Seated, left to right, are former Presidents Dan Miczek and Judy Shaffer, outgoing President Frank Rodgers and newly elected President Judy Maloney. The party was hosted by Peggy Kuffner and Judy Shaffer and the DJ was donated by longtime member Patti Hodge.

An entire new slate of officers will be assuming the leadership of the PebbleCreek Singles Club in January 2019. Judy Maloney has been elected president, along with her board of directors Carolyn Bates, vice president; Carol Ann Yamamoto, secretary; Cheryl Tiffany, treasurer; Jan Hansen, publicity; Betsy Portor and Stu Zatkow, activities.

Another newcomer is Webmaster Tom Condit, who will be assisted by outgoing Activities Director Dave Shaffner.

The mission of the unique PC Singles Club, now 200 members strong, is “to provide a welcoming environment and a safe haven for singles to feel comfortable participating in a broad spectrum of activities and events with others who share similar interests and life experiences.”

PC Singles is a social (not a dating) club and was organized 20 years ago by a small group of visionaries to meet the unique needs of a growing single population in the community.

During the ensuing years, under the tutelage of several dedicated and hardworking leadership teams, the Singles Club has grown to become a prominent part of the PebbleCreek community. It represents a diversified and vibrant group of single men and women (year-round residents, renters and snowbirds) who participate in a wide variety of social, cultural and athletic activities on a monthly basis.

The PC Singles meet monthly on the first Sunday of the month in the Ballroom of the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. The next meeting will be held on Sunday, December 2. New member registration begins at 2:15 p.m., activity sign ups start at 2:30 p.m. and the general meeting will be called to order promptly at 3:00 p.m. A social hour in the adjacent Long Drive Lounge will follow the meeting.

Highlight of the December calendar of events is the annual Holiday Party on Friday, December 14 at 5:00 p.m. Hosted by Cheryl Prisland and Joy Bole, this party has always been the premiere event of the year for the club. This year promises to be no exception with popular performer Thaddeus Rose signed on to provide the evening’s entertainment. Deadline to sign up and pay is at the December 2 meeting.

More information about the Holiday Party and other special events, in addition to regular monthly activities Pictionary, Brunch and Movie, Game Nights, Karaoke, and more is available on the club’s website www.pcsingles.org.
