New Courts Taking Shape

Pancho Epstein

On a sunny morning, preceded by a stormy evening, the pad for the first four of twelve new pickleball courts at PebbleCreek was created. On September 5, promptly at 6:00 a.m., the concrete began to flow and by 10:00 a.m. the job was ready for the sander. By noon the forms were being removed.

When the 12 courts are completed the PebbleCreek Pickleball Complex will have 20 courts, a large bathroom in a hutch and many other amenities.

And following that the facility will be available to hold major tournaments.

Pickleball is America’s fastest growing family sport and in no place has it grown faster than PebbleCreek where the club has close to 800 members.

While waiting for the new courts to be completed, the club has planned its 2014 Winter-2015 Spring Schedule, which went into effect September 28.

Activities taking place will be separate drop-in for 3.0 Plus players and novice to 2.5 players; free instruction for novice to 2.5 players which will include monitored round-robins sessions, skill level round-robins, ladders, a weekly TGIF drop-in social, inter-community competition (our top tournament players take on tournament players from around the country), socials and much more.

The club also has a website and email system for keeping members tuned into the latest events.

There’s a reason that so many people have taken up pickleball, it’s fun, competitive and will help you stay in shape. Plus it’s as easy to learn as checkers and as hard to master as chess.

Membership for the last part of the year is just $17 which includes an attractive club nametag.
