Members of the PebbleCreek Singles Club will take the first step toward formulating their 2015 Charitable Campaign on Sunday, March 1 when Ron Sikes, President and Executive Director of the Luke AFB Fighter Country Partnership (FCP) addresses the group at its regular monthly meeting at 3:00 p.m. in the ballroom of the Tuscany Falls Clubhouse. Mr. Sikes will outline ways that the PC Singles can support the FCP’s various programs which directly benefit military personnel assigned to nearby Luke AFB and around the world.

Elizabeth Stelton, an active Singles Club member, arranged for Mr. Sikes’ visit after the group voted in December to focus its 2015 fundraising efforts on supporting the Luke FCP and the Homeless Youth Connection (HYC). The Singles Club has a proud history of giving back to the local community by supporting charitable organizations.

Primarily a social organization, the Singles Club was formed in 1997 to provide opportunities for the growing population of single men and women to enjoy each other’s company while participating in functions sponsored by the Homeowners’ Association and various activities exclusive to club members. Membership is open to all single residents of PebbleCreek owners, renters and snowbirds. Dues are $15 per year. As of the end of 2014 the club’s membership had swelled to almost 190 members. As a testament to its reputation for fun, friendship and generosity, at least one newcomer has joined the PC Singles organization every month for the past two years. Last month the club welcomed five new members!

March promises to be a very active month with special trips scheduled to the Desert Botanical Gardens for a tour and lunch and to the Goodyear Ballpark for a Diamondbacks vs. Indians Spring Training game. A large turnout is expected on St. Patrick’s Day at the picnic planned at Sunrise Park where participants will enjoy a special Irish menu while playing Bingo. Cards will be sold for $2 each and proceeds will be divided among prize money and donations to the club’s two charities.

Members and prospective newcomers are urged not to miss the sign up deadlines which are listed in the weekly email update, on the Activities Calendars available in the kiosk at Eagle’s Nest Clubhouse and at the March 1 meeting. New member registration starts at 2:15 p.m., activities signup at 2:30 p.m. and the formal meeting at 3:00 p.m. A social hour follows in the adjacent Long Drive Lounge and then it’s off to dinner at Macayo’s Restaurant for those who want to participate. Important reminder: Due to the Easter Sunday holiday, the PC Singles April meeting will be held on March 29.
